After a highly volatile, eventful, and finally positive few days following the Wednesday Treasury Department announcement, Ripple’s XRP has slowed down by dipping from $1.70 to $1.50.

Its fluctuations went through the roof recently, and many analysts have started speculating on what’s coming next. Here are some of the latest analyses and predictions.

All Eyes on $1.70

The massive surge began after XRP challenged the $1.00 support on several occasions in the past few weeks, but the bulls stepped up on Wednesday and drove the cryptocurrency to a multi-month peak of $1.70 on Saturday morning. This means that the token had skyrocketed by 70% in less than 72 hours.

However, the rejection at that level was quite painful. The first analyst to outline its significance was EGRAG CRYPTO, who argued that XRP has now moved into its most important area following months of bearish price action. His chart places particular emphasis on the region between $1.65 and $1.70, which has capped the token’s movements for most of 2026.

From this point forward, a successful surge past that level would not only produce a new local peak but also remove the resistance that has halted the asset’s strongest rally since late 2024. CasiTrades is also watching

A pullback after a 70% surge is not unusual; in fact, it’s almost expected, but the depth of that retracement matters considerably.

What If XRP Breaks Above It

Dark Defender continues to view the asset’s broader Elliott Wave structure as bullish, while ChartNerd focuses on its ability to reclaim other major higher-timeframe technical levels following its dip below $1.00. The latter previously said XRP is likely to sweep below the psychological level in 2026 before recovering.

The landscape changed, though, and now XRP has to prove that the rejection at $1.70 was merely a temporary obstacle rather than the end of its relief rally. A decisive breakout above that area would strengthen the argument that the $1.00 bottom marked earlier this month represents more than just a temporary low.

Dark Defender noted that XRP’s first targets would be somewhere between $1.80 and the next psychological level at $2.00. As such, many analysts have come to an agreement on X that $1.70 becomes the token’s most important obstacle now, and the broader trend will flip bullish only after it reclaims it.
