Trading pair ranking for signals

A trading pair is two currencies, the price of one expressed in the other. ETH/BTC means ether is bought and sold for bitcoin. A signal always refers to a specific pair: “buy ETH” without saying what for means nothing.

This page ranks trading pairs by the results of the free trading signals. The position is set by the total profit of closed signals: the higher the profit, the higher the row.

Each row shows the name, links to the list of signals and to the technical analysis, the number of closed signals, how many closed in profit and how many at a loss, the total profit for the period and the average profit per signal. Statistics are shown for the last month (31 days) and for all time.

Total profit counts every closed signal, profitable and losing alike. If two signals closed, one at +10% and one at −5%, the “Profit” column shows +5%. A negative value means exactly one thing: more signals closed at a loss than in profit — and says nothing about how the next one will close.

A signal enters the statistics only once it is closed — when the price has reached the target or the stop. While it is open it affects neither the profit nor the position, so a row with one or two closed signals sits where it sits almost by chance.

Average profit per signal says more than the total when there are few signals: one good entry out of two produces a high percentage and proves nothing. The number of closed signals always sits next to it — that is what tells you how many observations the figure rests on.

The 31-day and all-time statistics often disagree: a month of the market is not a year of it. That disagreement is itself a useful observation, and it is why both columns sit side by side.
