The Chinese superconducting computer Origin Wukong has integrated a post-quantum cryptography (PQC) architecture. The system has already performed more than 1 million computing tasks in protected mode, Global Times reports. The 72-qubit computer uses the built-in Origin Rock software module. The solution protects data transmission from attacks using both classical and quantum algorithms. Developers from the quantum chip laboratory in Anhui province explained that the PQC framework prevents data from being stolen for later decryption in the future. The technology is already being tested by Chinese enterprises and government agencies. Since its public launch, Origin Wukong has been running for more than two years. During this time the system has recorded 49 million visits from users in 192 countries. The rollout of the protection aligns with China's plan to create national post-quantum cryptography standards. The authorities intend to approve them within the next three years to ensure the security of critical infrastructure. As a reminder, in May the developers of Quantus stated that the cryptocurrency industry is not ready for the transition to post-quantum cryptography, despite progress in such computations.
