Jurassic Finance plans to tokenize Deaton, a Triceratops prorsus skull, on Solana (SOL) in what the project calls the first tokenized dinosaur.

The initiative comes as the tokenization market expands beyond traditional assets such as stocks and bonds, with issuers bringing collectibles, artifacts, and other historically significant objects onchain.

The project’s website sets out how each fossil would come onchain. Jurassic Finance Labs sources and buys authenticated specimens. Every purchase would be legally structured as a dedicated Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).

Each vehicle would issue a separate token on Solana, built to the network’s SPL standard. According to the site, holders gain economic and legal rights under the vehicle’s operating agreement, which are transferable. 

Authentication, custody, and insurance stay off-chain, while the ownership record sits on-chain.

“Once a specimen is acquired and placed, it generates ongoing institutional revenue, abstracted entirely from token holders. Museums fund all operational overhead in exchange for display rights,” the firm explained.

Moreover, Jurassic Finance opened the Deaton raise in July, targeting 660,000 USDC. Of that, 600,000 would go into escrow for the seller and 60,000 to the RAWR token treasury. Tokenized Deaton would carry a supply of 1 million.

Allocators would claim 95% of the supply on a pro rata basis. The remaining 5% goes to the RAWR treasury. 

Meanwhile, the latest post has boosted the price of RAWR, the token launched by Jurassic Finance in mid-May. BeInCrypto Markets data showed it surged more than 89% over the past 24 hours.

Tokenized assets have expanded quickly over the past year. Their combined value climbed 267% from June 2025 to June 2026, and the category stood alone among crypto sectors, gaining value while others lost ground.

According to RWA.xyz, Solana ranks third among networks by distributed asset value, holding a 9.74% share. The network’s total distributed asset value is $3.59 billion, up 2.84% over 30 days. Holder numbers reached 312,309, a 6.28% gain over the same period.
