The price of bitcoin on Wednesday broke through the $66,000 mark when US President Donald Trump made a statement on the Iran deal at a press conference at the G7 summit.

Against this backdrop the cost of oil declined — Trump's words brought clarity to the details of the arrangements between the US and Iran ahead of the official signing of the agreement in Switzerland.
