The Ethereum hard fork – Constantinople – is due to take place from January 14 to 18. The exact date of the hard fork has not been set, although some sources claim it will be around 7:00 UTC on Wednesday, January 16, after the mining of block No. 7080000. At present the average block time is about 15 seconds, and there are about 44,000 blocks left until No. 7080000 (5 days, according to preliminary calculations).

The cryptocurrency exchanges Binance, Hotbit, BitMart, ABCC declare their readiness to support the upcoming Ethereum Constantinople hard fork and ask users to "leave enough time for deposits to be fully processed." In addition, the exchanges state that all technical requirements relating to ether holders will be met. CEX.IO says it will take "all necessary steps to update [its] system" and ensure the full security of clients' funds. OKEx and OKCoin will also support Constantinople and will take a "snapshot of all accounts at block level No. 7 080 000," which should appear between January 14 and 18. The crypto exchange Bibox, declaring support for the hard fork, promises ether holders "help with any technical problems related to the hard fork."

The American cryptocurrency exchange Bittrex reported the completion of the preparations necessary for the implementation of Constantinople — the upcoming Ethereum hard fork. The crypto exchange Poloniex also reported that it will support the upcoming hard fork in the Ethereum network. The crypto exchanges Huobi, EtherFlyer and TOK state that if any airdrop is received during the ethereum hard fork, it will be passed on to users after the network update process is completed. The crypto exchange BitForex will also support Constantinople, and if any other hard forks or airdrops occur during the hard fork process, the corresponding funds will be passed on to users on the basis of an asset snapshot. WazirX promises to "support the upcoming Constantinople hard fork, scheduled for January 16, 2019."

The Exodus wallet says it will support the hard fork of "ethereum, which has gone through a series of network upgrades, among which Constantinople will be the last." Koinex promises to "support the upcoming ethereum hard fork at block level No. 7 080 000 with an expected chain split date of January 16, 2019." Catex informs users of the following data on the Constantinople hard fork: estimated time - from January 14 to January 18; block level - No. 7 080 000, and also promises to "take a snapshot of the balance of ether holders at block level No. 7 080 000." Indodax also offers to "top up ether deposits in exchange accounts before the Constantinople hard fork and leave the exchange enough time to process the deposits."

Exchange users and ether holders should remember that, unlike the BCH hard fork in November 2018, the upcoming ethereum Constantinople hard fork is not contentious, and all network participants agree to accept the blockchain update. This also means that ether holders (ETH) do not need to do anything to prepare for this update.
