The creator of the NANO cryptocurrency, Colin LeMahieu, has compared the capabilities of the NANO and Ripple networks. In his opinion, the NANO cryptocurrency network has far more advantages than the Ripple digital currency network - by many measures the NANO network is much faster and more economical than Ripple. LeMahieu recalled that in October Nano's capabilities were successfully tested. Confirmation of a single transaction did not exceed three seconds. That speed is about 1/3 of the time required to confirm a transaction on the Ripple network. The transaction confirmation speed on the NANO platform is roughly twice as fast as on the Stellar network. For some companies and banks, a difference of a few seconds in speed may not be the main factor when choosing a network for carrying out a transaction. But when it comes to urgent payments, the time needed to process them begins to play a special role. In that case users tend to switch to platforms whose performance is much higher, LeMahieu stressed.

Moreover, according to LeMahieu, the NANO network is more decentralized than Ripple, since the latter controls the majority of XRP tokens. The Ripple team holds almost 60% of XRP tokens. This reduces the security of any network user's funds, since the project controls their tokens. LeMahieu emphasized: "Unlike XRP, we are a more decentralized digital asset. We are not a company that controls most of its own tokens. As a result, the security of the users of our network is much higher".

At the same time, the creators of XRP are confident that their product will retain its dominant market position even if the company Ripple ceases to exist. The company's CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, believes that the XRP coin will be traded on major platforms even in the event of Ripple's liquidation.
