Scammer gave himself away by complaining to ZachXBT about a bitcoin freeze

On-chain detective ZachXBT told the story of a scammer who unwittingly gave himself away. A follower under the nickname AmanKesar11 wrote to him with a complaint about the «unfair» freeze of 5.73 BTC ($475,000) on the Changelly platform, but a check showed that these funds were linked to thefts from Americans.

Upon receiving the message, ZachXBT traced the bitcoin transaction through his verification tools. It turned out that the funds led to illicit sources — to social-engineering thieves targeting US residents, including pensioners, through American exchanges and bitcoin ATMs.

How the scammer gave himself away

According to ZachXBT, the entire chain of thefts associated with him brought the scammers over $1 million since 2025. The 5.73 BTC itself was frozen on Changelly back in March 2025 — which is exactly why the person involved sought help.

His explanations of the origin of the money kept changing: first a loan, then money sent by a boss, then supposedly the boss’s investment in bitcoin «in 2014 and 2015» through an acquaintance in the US. Most curiously, in December 2025 the person involved, by his own account, even filed a report with the Indian police over the freeze.

Who the person involved worked for

In the correspondence, AmanKesar11 sent screenshots of the conversation, and from them ZachXBT gathered additional data that allowed him to reconstruct the structure of the entire group. The crypto detective suggests that the person involved — is merely an intermediary through whom money is laundered for a boss under the pseudonym «Mr Parveen».

This conclusion was reached thanks to the «evidence» that the person involved himself provided: bank statements turned out to be issued in someone else’s name and to a different address. ZachXBT addressed his followers with a warning: he can be asked for help, he respects privacy, but he will not return for the sake of laundering stolen funds.
