Chainlink (LINK) has become the best-performing asset in the top 20 this week, leading every other major cryptocurrency.

The cryptocurrency jumped 10.18% to $8.71, its highest level since early June. Three major factors explain the double-digit rise over the past week.

A Broad Crypto Market Rally Set the Stage

The first factor is the wider market. A softer US inflation report lifted risk assets across the board this week.

Bitcoin (BTC) climbed back above $65,000, and the total crypto market value crossed $2.2 trillion. The rally gave every major asset a lift.

Notably, LINK outpaced them all. Its 10.18% weekly gain topped Zcash’s (ZEC) 8.25% and Ethereum’s (ETH) 7.83%, the next-best weekly gainers among the top 20 assets.

Exchange Supply Keeps Draining

The second factor is LINK’s shrinking presence on exchanges. Santiment data shows more than 15.7 million LINK left known exchanges in a month, a 12% supply drop.

Sunday alone saw net outflows of 1.04 million LINK, one of the largest daily moves of the stretch. 

“Fewer tokens sitting on exchanges reduces readily available sell pressure and makes accumulation look much more convincing,” the firm said.

Traders usually deposit tokens to sell them. When supply leaves instead, it often signals that holders are storing rather than exiting. The signal is not foolproof, however.

In late April, Santiment logged LINK’s largest single-day outflow since December 2025. The price subsequently slipped.

BeInCrypto also reported that network activity remains strong. Non-empty LINK wallets on Ethereum reached an all-time high of 900,000 last week.

Institutional Adoption Adds a Reason

Finally, on July 15, the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) ran its first production trades of tokenized assets. Chainlink was among the market participant firms.

More than 30 firms took part, including BlackRock, Vanguard, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Microsoft. Crypto-native names included Circle, Ondo Finance, and Fireblocks.

The full DTCC Tokenization Service launches in October 2026, which could further lift adoption. Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve meets on July 28 in the next macro test. Whether outflows and demand hold will decide if LINK keeps its lead.
