A critical vulnerability has been discovered in the Beam Wallet crypto wallet. This was reported by the development team of the Beam cryptocurrency. The identified vulnerability poses a risk to users of all desktop and CLI versions of the application. For security reasons, details about the discovered bug are temporarily not being disclosed, however it is known that the crypto wallet's databases, secret keys and passwords were not affected. The developers recommend immediately ceasing use of the application and deleting it from all devices without touching the crypto wallet data, and installing Beam Wallet anew by downloading the updated version from the project's website.

We note that the launch of the world's first cryptocurrency based on the Mimblewimble protocol took place on January 3. Within a week, another coin – Grin – may be launched on this protocol, which is designed to enhance the privacy and scalability of cryptocurrency.
