A new update for the EOS cryptocurrency platform will increase its throughput capacity by more than 30%. The development team noted that the update to the platform's software should significantly increase its throughput, which will reduce transaction processing time and sharply increase their total number.

During the overall testing of the EOSIO 1.6.0 update, it was established that the network's performance increases at a rapid pace – the developers recorded noticeable improvements in the quality of the platform's operation and a reduction in the blockchain's costs for an individual operation.

The team's blog also emphasizes: "Our own internal testing showed a 35% increase in transaction speed during per-second token transfers."

The significant improvement in the EOS blockchain's performance is noticed by many analytics services. For example, according to the Coinmetrics resource, the EOS digital currency network topped the ranking of blockchain platforms by number of transactions. Bitcoin managed to take only fifth place in this ranking, yielding the lead to Ethereum and Tron.
